Greetings and Namaste!

Welcome to Summer.
And welcome to The Lotus -- devoted to teaching children and families the joy, peace and health of yoga and storytelling. I hope you share with children the methods and stories in this issue of Storytime Yoga and delight in doing them together.

The Lotus is also the voice of Mythic Yoga and The Joseph Campbell Foundation Roundtable Colorado. Take a mythic journey into yourself and out again and join in on the gatherings of intellect, wisdom, body and bliss.

New this issue: Storyteller Susan Kaplan, MSW, premiers her column for families in this issue and talks about her family peace storytelling program with the Conflict Center.

The Wellness Initiative. Storytime Yoga proudly announces collaboration with Debbie Huttner and the Wellness Initiative, committed to children's health and well-being through yoga and nutrition. Look for upcoming teacher and parent trainings we will be offering this fall in the art of teaching yoga and storytelling to children.

Stories for Peace

I have had the wonderful opportunity to work with Susan Kaplan, MSW, and Opalanga Pugh in the Stories for Peace program. Presented bilingual Spanish and English, it contributes to healthy, non-violent families using storytelling and conflict resolution skills.

Enjoy these stories with follow-up activities for teaching non-violence, ahimsa, and anger management at home, in school or in yoga class. Have children put yoga poses to the stories, or act out the stories themselves.

The Little Lotus

Check out the new just for kid’s section for your children to hear my latest audio recording of “Ganesha’s Lesson." The story text is included to read along and yoga poses are also included for child and teacher use.
